UK Pop outfit Honey Ryder make their debut with a chart entry in the UK Singles Chart. Their single ‘Numb’ reached to #32 for the week ending Aug 9th 2008. Honey Ryder recorded 30 different versions of the single including live performances at schools across the UK. Proceeds from these remixes will go directly back to the schools in a charity effort to help these schools raise money.
Here is a review of the music -
Vocal virtuoso Lindsay O’ Mahoney and guitar guru Martyn Shone make for one hot dou in Honey Ryder, the latest hit maker to appear on the UK’s pop scene. She, demonstrating a knack for bluesy ballads like that of Sheryl Crow, and he, honing in on Stereophonics-like skills, together create ambient works of art that will take you on a roller coaster ride of sweet musical enjoyment.

Greetings!
The gig this week will see West Yorkshire’s finest, Tiny Dancers, take the reigns for what promises to be another epic night at Camden’s prestigious Dublin Castle. True mastery flows effortlessly through this charming five-piece; their songs are simple, complicated, beautiful, and dangerously honest. The Tiny Dancers first got together in 2005, and have evidently managed to develop quickly, coining a wonderfully unique brand of old school folk pop. With a heavy touring schedule and a recent signing to a major, the band look set for big things. Expect a scorching barrage of hits from their debut album, ‘Free School Milk’.
Support this week comes from the mighty Bookhouse Boys, who again are a delectable and unique offering. This nine strong army change mood as quickly as old Henners did his wives, but luckily this means there’s something for everyone. Soft vocals and sweeping harmonies become emblazoned by the two strong drum core, combatant guitar attack, and brass cavalry… I know, don’t forget your loo roll!
Finally, Applicants are on call to deliver their own sukka-punch of electro-indie pop punk! Expect a mental live-show and an unnervingly serious, yet comedic performance. Fun…guaranteed!
Congratulations to Emilie Chick of indiestore for being chosen by the Worldwide Festival panel to play at this year’s festival in Sete, France. She will open the Worldwide Festival on the 3rd of July.
Emilie Chick is a French-American songstress defining her style through numerous musical experiences.
She grew up between North America and France and joined her first band (Bossa Nova) at 17 by curiosity and has never stopped since.
In barely a couple of years she makes fierce progress moving from classic Rythm n’Blues covers in piano-bars (South of France) to Los Angeles where she performs with an experimental Funk band (Inhaler).
Back in France she will begin various projects including a House improv act in clubs all over France and meets Antoine Clamaran who will feature her on his first album (Release Yourself, Sing a Song 2002).
In 2003 she teams up with a London based Electro Hip-Hop DJ collective (Dapond) to record and perform (Cargo, Harry’s Social Club) and learns heaps about production and programming.
2005 is a turning point, Emilie heads for a solo project with a producer-friend in south of France (This is Emilie Chick Speaking , still in progress) but also records Bag U Should with Quizz (Dialect Recordings, remixed by Charles Webtser , L’Aroye & Ky, playlisted on Radio Nova and many others)
A new collaboration with Antoine Clamaran will set his single Keep on Trying (2006) as a big hit in clubs around the world.
Today she works with Charles Webtser and Atjazz (aka Version) – their first single featuring on Defected presents Charles Webster compilation (out 14th April 2008) is called The Brighter Side…and hopefully the best is yet to come, stay tuned!

-With Libya once more back in the international fold, it is now as easy to sell your music over the net from Benghazi as it is from Brighton, Budapest or Bangalore – and some previously rare tunes are easier to obtain than they have ever been before.

Puma have partnered with indiestore to find independent and unsigned artists to feature on an upcoming pan-European download promotion for Puma Fragrances.
To coincide with the launch of a new product range, Puma Fragrances will be offering free downloads from music that posses a real sense of energy and vitality, in-line with the brands’ sporting heritage. The fragrance strap-line is “Jump into the flow”, which is all about dance and music. The music will be fresh; upbeat tracks that capture a feeling of pure energy and a lust for life.
All genres of music are in with a shot, as long as your track is upbeat and energetic.
Puma will pick a handful of tracks that will be made available as free download through the new fragrance’s promotional site. The site will carry the free downloads and will rank the music by their popularity with users. If any one track stands outs, Puma will use that track in a pan-European TV commercial.
Artists can simply opt into the promotion through their indiestore manager. If you don’t have an indiestore account, simply register at www.indiestore.com/register.
indiestore live this May sees the return of Sennen who played indiestore live back in November. This month they will return to the Dublin Castle with new music from their second album Where The Light Gets In which will be released on May 25th 2008.
Capital, previously known as Passengers are 4 members who have been writing music together for 5 years they will be bringing their mixture of anthemic, bass driven keyboard rock to support Sennen.
Releasing their debut album on the Monday before the indiestore live night, Ham Sandwich, (yes we know it’s a funny name, and actually can’t wait to ask them how they came up with this one), will be coming down from Ireland to give us a taste of what will be on the new release.
Lastly, Eli “Paperboy” Reed will be making a solo appearance. Coming from the US but without the True Loves, Eli will bring motown sound on the solo set. Be sure to be impressed.
